TRACK & FIELD 2018
Coach: Mrs. Salmon-South
This is the most successful year in track and field. Despite the reduced number of participants for the junior team, we
had a record number of participants for the senior team: 27 students. The senior team put together a total of 159 points
for a fifth place finish at the CISAA meet. Paul, Eunice, Daniel, Lauren, Parker, Jakob, James and Murray had outstanding
performance and were allowed to compete at the City Track Meet. Paul competed in three events. Parker got a gold
medal in discus, Jakob got silver in long jump, and Paul got bronze in 200m. The other participants placed 4th and 5th in
their events. Parker and Jakob competed at Provincials and both finished in top six
.
The seven-member junior team also performed well. The outstanding performer at the CISAA meet was Ahmad who had
a 1st, two 3rd and a 5th place finish. He placed 2nd overall in Juvenile boys. At the CAAA meet Bhavjit and Vivian were
tied for 3rd place overall with 28 points each in the senior girls’ category; both were rewarded with bronze medals.
Ahmad had 30 points and finished 4th in the senior boys’ category
.
The athletes showed a lot of grit and determination and their overall performance was excellent. Congratulations to all
the team members.
